The Lost Sisters Spoiler-Free Review by Sandra @printedalphabet
The Lost Sisters, an e-novella, is told from the perspective of Taryn Duarte as both an apology and explanation to her sister Jude for her actions in The Cruel Prince. And although it may be a companion novella, it is just as dark and delectable as ever. One person’s horror story is another’s love story. And Holly Black has delightfully given and BLESSED us with The Lost Sisters!
I must say, it was very interesting to read Taryn’s perspective. Truly, one is never the victim of their own story - especially Taryn. After all, she is “the good sister, the one who kept faith and stuck to the rules.” The Lost Sisters perfectly outlines the sisterly differences between Taryn, Jude, and even Viv. Of course, all from the eyes of Taryn.
Taryn tells it all. From the beginning - their journey into Elfhame to her relationship with Locke. And is it a good one? Depends on who is telling it. After all, in the words of Holly Black herself from The Lost Sisters - “the difference is mostly in where the ending comes.”
I HIGHLY recommend The Lost Sisters! This is perfect for fans of The Cruel Prince and will help curve the enduring LONG AND CRUEL wait for The Wicked King!
